I’m a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW 27034) in West Los Angeles. For over a decade I’ve been helping adults, children, and families cope with life challenges and find emotional balance and well-being. Over the past few years, my own experience with infertility has led me to expand my practice to include helping those struggling to conceive, which can be a very specific and life altering crisis for an individual or couple.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and have a Bachelors degree in Communication from UC Berkeley and a Masters degree in Social Welfare from UCLA. I see both children/teens and adults/couples in my private practice, where I have expertise in assessing and treating a variety of clinical difficulties including:

Anxiety. Depression. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Relationship and Family Problems. Grief/Loss. Low Self-Esteem. Life Transitions. Emotion Regulation Difficulties. Infertility.

I believe in collaborating with my clients to create the most effective and tailored treatment plan to fit their unique needs. I often utilize a solution-focused, client-centered approach to help clients explore areas where they are stuck, increase self-awareness, and continue to develop personal strengths. I incorporate cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), motivational interviewing techniques, and structural family therapy to help teach new skills, increase coping tools, and improve interpersonal relationships. I am certified in Dr. Harvey Karp’s Happiest Baby on the Block program and was trained in mind-body stress-reduction techniques for the infertility patient. I am a member of SEEDS (Society for Ethics In Egg Donation & Surrogacy) and ASRM (The American Society for Reproductive Medicine) and have my Mental Health Professional certification from ASRM. I am on the board of The Art of Infertility, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit international arts organization.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I’m also an expert in all things infertility.  My husband and I made One More Shot, a feature length documentary film chronicling our tumultuous journey to parenthood. One More Shot is available on iTunes, Amazon, Vimeo On Demand and Netflix. The film chronicles our personal journey through various assisted reproductive technologies and third party interventions. It explores the social and emotional aspects of infertility from a very raw and personal point of view, and redefines the meaning of family. I feel strongly about eliminating the stigma and shame often associated with infertility and, through film screenings and lectures/Q&A’s, I hope to increase awareness and invite an honest dialogue about infertility, as well as normalize the different ways families are created.
